Warranty Information
Origin Storage supplies two types of warranty when buying on-line. The first is a 2 year return to base warranty which is supplied as standard with almost all of our products. The second is a 3 year advance replacement warranty which only comes with our quality matched hard drive upgrade solutions.

WARRANTY-RTB-2 - 2 year return to base warranty - If you have a fault with any product purchased from Origin Storage Ltd within 2 years from date of invoice, you may request an RMA to send your product back for repair/replacement. In most cases you will need to have spoken to technical support to have your claim validated.

WARRANTY-ADV-3 - 3 year advance replacement warranty - If you have a fault with any product purchased from Origin Storage Ltd within 3 years from date of invoice, contact our technical team to organise a swapout of drives. A courier will be despatched with a replacement drive which will be delivered at the same time as collecting the faulty one.

In any case it is always prudent to contact technical support to validate any worries you may have before requesting a return.

Why Request?
The most obvious cases for wishing to apply for an RMA is where your product may have developed a fault rendering the product unusable. Other types of request may include DOA - Dead on arrival claims, Incorrect product received or incorrectly ordered product(s). In cases where a product has been ordered incorrectly and the customer wishes to return the product for a refund or credit, you may be asked to agree to a small re-stocking fee or handling charge to cover our administration fees.

How to Request
If you have spoken to technical support they may e-mail or fax you a form which needs to be filled in and returned so that the request can be validated.

If a fault has already been diagnosed, the returns form may be downloaded from the bottom of this page. The filled in form should then be e-mailed to returns@originstorage.com so validation can be completed and an RMA number raised. You may be contacted by a support representative for further information before this process is completed.

Only once you have received a reply and an authorisation number you may return the product(s) to Origin Storage Ltd. Failure to return products with the authorisation number visible on the outside of the packaging may mean that it is rejected at goods in and returned to the customer at their cost. Only product(s) authorised may be returned.

Timescales
The time it takes to complete a return varies depending on when the product is received and what actions need to be taken.

To give a rough idea this scale shows the average time for different actions.

  • Testing only (2-3 days)
  • Repairs (2-3 days)
  • Replacements (1-2 days)
  • Credits/Refunds (2-4 days)

At peak times these times may regrettably increase, in the event of delays you shall be fore-warned by your support representative.

Returns Procedure
Once a returns reference has been authorised you will need to send the product back to our returns facility. The product must be securely packaged to prevent it from being damaged further in transit. Products coming back for credit must be sent back complete with all accessories and in original un-defaced packaging.

Products received poorly packaged or in poor condition may be voided of warranty at our discretion.

The returns reference must be written or printed on the shipping carton so that it can be routed straight to the returns department. Failure to mark the returns reference clearly on the package may cause a delay in completing the return.

To request a return using this form either Right Click "Save Target As..." and save to your computer, then return the completed form via e-mail to the address on the form. OR, open the link, fill in your details and close window. You will then be asked to save document to your computer, please attach the form and return to returns@originstorage.com
